Sparkster: Rocket Night Adventures 2 Stage 1 theme, Megadrive / Genesis. Apparently Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame worked on this soundtrack (more about his non-Silent Hill work here.)

Out of all the Rocket Knight games, I always loved Sparkster (for the Genesis) the most. The Stage 1 theme had such a fantastic sense of speed and excitement, which was pretty amped up in this sequel. Sparkster was more angular and had a more “Let’s DO THIS!” look, he even bursts into the stage at the beginning! The colors were more vibrant, and the sound was just divine.
